Howard & Marcell Wergeland

Howard and Marcell (Schonberger) Wergeland, Moorhead, will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with their family in Northfield, Minn.

They were married Dec. 21, 1947, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley City, N.D., with Rev. Henry Meske officiating at a double ring ceremony with Marcell’s twin sister, Arzell, and Charles Solheim.

Howard was a secondary school administrator in Moorhead for 25 years. Marcell was an elementary teacher at Jefferson Elementary School in Fargo for 26 years.

They have a son, Mark (Diane) Wergeland, Northfield; three grandsons, Bryce Wergeland, Eden Prairie, Minn., Brett Wergeland, St. Paul, and Blake Wergeland, Oslo, Norway; and one great-grandson, Harrison, Detroit Lakes, Minn.
