FARGO – If I could wrap up my favorite place and give it away, I would.
But the next best thing is to give gifts that bring Fargo to the lucky people on your list.
Here are my picks for some Fargo-inspired presents:
Screen-printed Fargo poster
Former Fargoan Amy Jo Hendrickson’s hand screen-printed poster is the perfect addition to an office or any place you just want to remember home. It sells for $30 plus shipping on her website, www.missamyjo.com.
Holiday T-shirt from Tag
Tag, a seasonal pop-up shop that is open at 601 1st Ave. N. through Dec. 23, has some unique Midwest-themed T-shirts. One of my favorites plays off an ugly Christmas sweater that sells for $25.
Carol Widman’s Chippers
I’m pretty sure anyone could find room on their Christmas list for some chocolate-covered potatoes chips. My personal favorite is the dark chocolate variety, but the snacks also come in peanut butter, milk chocolate and white almond. You can a half-pound for $9 at the Fargo location, 4323 13th Ave. S.
Witty Fargo shirts
Witty sayings on super-soft cotton T-shirts make stellar stocking stuffers. Proper & Prim boutique, 317 Broadway in downtown Fargo, sells Raygun brand shirts with two Fargo sayings: “Fargo: Chipper People” and “Fargo: Keeping an eye on Minnesota for everyone else.” Each retails for $19.
Growler of Fargo beer
Nothing brings on Christmas cheer than a big jug of beer. Give 64 ounces of Fargo Beer Company’s Stone’s Throw and the recipient is sure to have a hoppy New Year.
Greatest city mug
You might as well be proud and show everyone just how much you like Fargo with this mug from Unglued, 408 Broadway, for $6.
