June O. Johnson, 91, Fargo, ND died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at Essentia Health, Fargo.

June Olive Isackson was born Oct. 14, 1921 in Wahpeton, ND to Henning and Borghild (Bakken) Isackson. She attended school in Wahpeton and Nansen Township. June married Rueben O. Johnson on Sept. 15, 1940 in Bethany Lutheran Church rural Abercrombie, ND. They lived in Wahpeton, ND until 1944 when Rueben went into the Army. June and children, Bruce and Judy, lived with her parents on their farm in Nansen Township until he returned home in 1945. June worked with her husband on their farm near Colfax, ND until 1971 when they moved to West Fargo, ND. She worked with Rueben in the insurance business in West Fargo. She taught Sunday school, was ladies aid secretary/treasurer, and was a member of the altar guild and church choir at Galchutt Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Galchutt Homemakers Club. She was presently a member of Faith Lutheran Church, West Fargo.

June enjoyed spending time with family, doing crafts, crossword puzzles, cake decorating, and she had a love for dark chocolate. They traveled to California and Las Vegas, spent winters in Arizona and many summers at East Lost Lake, MN.

She is survived by her husband, Rueben; a son, Bruce (Jackie) Johnson, Liberty, MO; two daughters, Judy (Gary) Sumpter, Pelican Rapids, MN and Renee (Joe) Speidel, Wahpeton; seven grandchildren, Thomas Johnson, Tammy Bartram, Jennifer Bartholomew, Todd Johnson, Jodi Nielson, Stacy Osborn, Megan Halstenson; three step-grandchildren, Shelley Speidel, Kyle Speidel and Cassie Foltz; 16 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Pearl Lee, Fargo and Lois Zarling, Torrington, WY.

June was preceded in death by parents; a brother, Archie Isackson and one great grandson, Matthew Johnson; and son-in-law, Gary Halstenson.

Funeral: Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at 11 AM at Faith Lutheran Church, West Fargo with visitation one hour prior.

Burial: Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton.
