Larry Gegelman, 62, of Casselton, North Dakota died peacefully on Monday, January 7, 2013. Larry Dean Gegelman was born on April 13, 1950 in Hazen, North Dakota to Anton and Hertha (Wolf) Gegelman. He grew up in Alexander, ND. He attended Alexander High School, Concordia College Moorhead, and NDSU, dedicating his life to education. He was married to Patricia (Bergstrom) Gegelman in 1976. They made homes in Edmore, Starkweather, Towner, and Casselton, ND with their three children.

Larry dedicated his time and energy to those around him. In 2012 he was named Central Cass Booster of the Year. He volunteered at the Casselton Ambulance and Parks and Rec. He was also an active member of Martin’s Lutheran Church. His commitment to the community will be greatly missed.

Larry enjoyed family, friends, sports, and the outdoors. When all of these were involved he was the happiest. Everyone will remember him the most for being an inspiration and living life to the fullest.

Larry is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Andrew (Jamie) Gegelman of Jamestown, ND; Lyndsy (Brian) Lynch of Breckenridge, MN; Madison Gegelman of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Hunter Gegelman, Griffin Gegelman, and Mayson Lynch; sisters, Sharon (Glenn) Bertsch, Sandi (Jim) Rader, Eunice (Clyde) Frank; and sister-in-law, Wendy Skjerven Gegelman.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Randy.

Visitation: Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 4-6 with a prayer service at 6 pm at Martin’s Lutheran Church, Casselton, ND.

Funeral: Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 10 am at Martin’s Lutheran Church, Casselton, ND.
