College-educated women are less likely than their male counterparts to agree with spanking, according to the Child Trends Data Bank.

College-educated women are less likely than their male counterparts to agree with spanking, according to the Child Trends Data Bank. Men with less than a high school education are less likely than women with the same education to endorse spanking. Below is the percentage of respondents, by education, who believe that spanking is sometimes necessary:

Less than high school education

Female: 67 percent

Male: 63 percent

High school diploma or GED

Female: 69 percent

Male: 80 percent

College Graduate

Female: 56 percent

Male: 71 percent
