Imogene 'Jeanie' Dockter

Imogene 'Jeanie' Dockter, 87, of Hurdsfield, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey.

Jeanie Stark was born to Walter and Rosie (Miller) Stark in Vashti, North Dakota on July 5th 1925. The family lived south of Goodrich where she road horse 3 ½ miles to attend country school. In 1938 the family moved north of Tuttle.

Imogene 'Jeanie' Dockter, 87, of Hurdsfield, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey.

Jeanie Stark was born to Walter and Rosie (Miller) Stark in Vashti, North Dakota on July 5th 1925. The family lived south of Goodrich where she road horse 3 ½ miles to attend country school. In 1938 the family moved north of Tuttle.

Jeanie married her beloved husband, Gust, on October 15, 1945 and is now reunited with him in Heaven. Jeanie and Gust loved the Lord. Their lives were centered around their faith and their family. Jeanie will be remembered for all of the great times at the farm, when she would show her love by baking and cooking and would never let anyone go away hungry. She always made Christmas and Thanksgiving special family days. Jeanie loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and looked forward to their visits. One of the regular family trips was trail riding. Her last trail ride was with her family while in Mexico at the age of 79.

Jeanie enjoyed living on the farm and spending time outside, doing everything from gardening, to driving tractor, and she said she thought God had made a mistake, as she should have been a boy. Jeanie volunteered as a 4H Leader and was proud of the First Place award her club won.

Jeanie is survived by her 5 children, Kenny (Maryellen) Dockter of Hurdsfield, Dennis (Dianne) Dockter of Fargo, Dyan Dockter of Fargo, Kelly (Denise) Dockter of Hurdsfield, and Shelly Dockter of Fargo. 9 grandchildren: Stephanie (Wade) Discher, Josh Dockter, Kelsey (Phil) Smith, Tim (Holly) Dockter, Elizabeth Dockter, Kamie (Mitch) Miller, Kelly C. 'KC' Dockter, Katelyn Dockter, and Kylee Dockter and 15 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Shirley (Ralph) Christianson, Washington and Violet (Truman) Felch, Tuttle, 2 sisters- in - law, Ruth Stark of Tuttle and Helen Stark of Bismarck, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jeanie was preceded in death by her husband Gust, a granddaughter Ryan Dockter, her parents, and 2 brothers Billy and Calvin Stark.

She would like to say a special thank you to Linda for all of the beautiful cards she sent.

Funeral: Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hurdsfield Community Center.

Visitation: Friday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home in Fessenden

Burial: Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hurdsfield.
