Gary Duggan

Gary Duggan was born December 28, 1938 in Ayr, ND, the son of Floyd and Ella (Schneekloth) Duggan. He was raised in Page, ND and graduated from Page High School in 1958. He married Carol Palmer July 2, 1960 in Page, ND.

Gary attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND and graduated in May 1961 with associates degree in heating and air conditioning. In 1962, he entered the Army and was stationed in Fort Carson, CO and later did his service in Vicenza, Italy. Upon completion of his military career in 1963, they returned back to the West Fargo area.

Upon completion of his military career in 1963, they returned back to the West Fargo area.

Throughout the years, Gary worked as a sheet metal mechanic in the Local 10 Union which included Midwest Mechanical, West Fargo Plumbing and Heating, and Peterson Mechanical retiring in 2001.

Gary was a past leader of the Cass County Cowboys 4-H club where he cherished riding horse and spending time with neighborhood families and friends. He was an active member of the Sheyenne Red River High School Rodeo for over 30 years and a member of the Community Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed traveling through Yellowstone and Grand Teton Mountains area. Gary was an avid NDSU Bison football fan and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s events and special activities.

Gary passed suddenly of natural causes in his home on Sunday, February 3, 2013. In passing, Gary was a donor to LifeSource. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Carol, West Fargo; his daughters, Michelle (Sean) Bucy, Horace, ND and Sherri (Mike) Schonert, Horace; grandchildren, Kailyn and McKenna Ohm, Ty and Taryn Schonert; two sisters, Marcy (Orv) Langdahl, Bellevue, WA and Marilyn West, West Fargo; and brother, Don (Linda) Duggan, Hugo, OK.

Gary was preceded in death by his son, Bob in 2006; brothers, Robert and Dale; and his parents, Floyd and Ella.

Memorials can be given to the Community Presbyterian Church Building Fund.

Visitation: Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 from 5 to 6:30 PM with a prayer service at 6:30 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo.

Funeral: Thursday at 1 PM at Community Presbyterian Church, West Fargo with visitation one hour prior.

Burial: Page Cemetery.
