Stanley Lund was born June 10, 1918 to Peter and Johanne (Madsen) Lund who came to the United States from Denmark in 1907. On November 10, 1942 Stanley entered the United States Army and served his country during World War II in the American, European, African, and Middle Eastern Theaters. Following his retirement in 1980, Stanley enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and other important events that needed taking care of. They spent the next fourteen winters enjoying the sun and warm climate of Arizona.

In 1984, wanting to be closer to their children and grandchildren, they moved to Minot where they became members of the Zion Lutheran Church, the Moose Lodge and the Golden Kiwanis Club. They learned to enjoy life in a little bigger city.
