Michael and Angeline (Zentgraf) Gilles, Wahpeton, N.D., celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Feb. 28.
Michael and Angeline (Zentgraf) Gilles, Wahpeton, N.D., celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Feb. 28.
They were married Feb. 28, 1943, at Camp Crowder, Newton County, Neosho, Mo., where Michael was stationed prior to shipping out to Africa during World War II. Michael later farmed in the Lidgerwood, N.D., area until he retired in 1981.
They have four children, Donald (Diane) Gilles, Henderson, Nev.; the late Richard (Annette) Gilles, Fargo; Michelle (John) Koppelman, Great Falls, Mont.; and Dave (Amanda) Gilles, Fergus Falls, Minn.; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
