Stephen David Haupt

Stephen David Haupt, 83, passed away April 3, 2013 in his home in Manassas, Virginia.

He was born in the family home in Stephen, Minnesota and was the seventh child of Louis and Amanda Haupt. He grew up and attended school in Stephen, graduating in 1948. In 1949 he joined the Navy, and retired after 20 years of active duty as a Chief Petty Officer. In 1971 he began a second career as a civilian at the Pentagon, retiring as a Computer Specialist in 1986.

Stephen David Haupt, 83, passed away April 3, 2013 in his home in Manassas, Virginia.

He was born in the family home in Stephen, Minnesota and was the seventh child of Louis and Amanda Haupt. He grew up and attended school in Stephen, graduating in 1948. He and his wife Doris were married in 1954 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Stephen, Minnesota. They were married for nearly 57 years before Mrs. Haupt’s death in July 2011.Mr. Haupt was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, Manassas, VA.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Hubert, Joseph, and Leo; and Sisters Verda Wirth, Adaline Sang, and Velma Hageman. Stephen is survived by his children Kelly D. Haupt and his wife Anna of Virginia Beach, VA; Kim J. Martin and her husband Nathan of Springfield, VA; Kerry D. Haupt and his wife Stephanie of Fayetteville, OH; grandchildren Stephen Pano Haupt, Jason Christopher Holt, Noelani Pearl Martin, Nicole Elizabeth-Lee Martin, and Timothy Michael Haupt; and two great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 11, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA 20110. A prayer service will begin at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Deacon Brian Majewski officiating.

Graveside interment services will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Quantico National Cemetery Triangle. VA.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, under the direction of Richard E. Merlo.
