But with all its benefits, shouldn’t every week be Drinking Water Week?

According to the Mayo Clinic, the human body’s made up of about 60 percent water, and every system in your body depends on it.

Recommended daily intake varies by your health, activity level and where you live, but the Institute of Medicine determined that the average for men is about 13 cups, about 9 for women.

Downing 2 to 3 liters of plain tap water a day can get boring, and bottled water’s expensive.

Just adding a squeeze of lemon is enough to add zest for some people.

Others have been scouring online idea hub Pinterest for fruit- and herb-infused water recipes like raspberry lime and cranberry orange.

Here are five combinations for homemade flavored water:

1. Raspberry lime

2. Cranberry orange

3. Cucumber thyme

4. Blackberry sage

5. Watermelon rosemary

Add ingredients to a large pitcher or jar and crush to release juices. Fill with ice and water and let sit in the fridge or on the counter for several hours or overnight.
