Patricia “Pat” Ann Sondrall

Patricia “Pat” Ann Sondrall, 84 of Chisago City, formerly of Fargo, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at The Margaret S. Parmly Residence in Chisago City.

Pat was born on December 10, 1928 in Fargo, ND to Harold M. and Dagmar (Olson) Briggs. She graduated from Moorhead High School and then from Moorhead State Teachers’ College. On June 16, 1950 Pat married Maurice Sondrall at Grace Methodist Church in Moorhead. She taught school for 26 years at Bateman Private School in Chicago, IL and taught for 15 years at North Center for Handicap in Chicago, retiring in 1991. After returning to make Fargo her home in 1991, she continued teaching as a substitute in the area schools. She also provided private piano and voice lessons to many of Fargo/Moorhead’s budding musicians.

Pat was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church in Fargo and also of Faith Lutheran Church in West Fargo. She was also very active in volunteer work including serving as co-director of Silver Follies Productions at FMCT and co-coordinator of Silver Follies Outreach, representative for the Kroll’s Diner Advertisement, member of FM Music Teachers Association, past president of FM area Music Club, sang with Noteables music group, chaired Junior Music Festival at NDSU for many years and co-directed several dinner theatres at Faith Lutheran Church. Pat also was awarded the YMCA Woman of the Year for the Arts.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, mother and father in law, Oscar and Vi Sondrall; sisters, Dolores Smith and Rachel Brogelman and her brother in law, Robert Brogelman.

Pat is survived by her sister, Eva Kate (Robert) Hanson of Lindstrom, MN; brother in law, James Smith of Frazee, MN and her nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service: Wednesday, July 10 at 11:00 am at Faith Lutheran Church, West Fargo with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
