Royce W. Rodacker, 61, Casselton, North Dakota, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2013, near West Fargo, North Dakota, from injuries he sustained in a car accident.

Royce was born on October 10, 1951 to Myrtle (Vietz) and Allen Rodacker in Fargo, North Dakota. Royce grew up and graduated from West Fargo High School in 1969. Royce worked in construction as a finish carpenter for most of his career. He worked for Curtis Construction, Fargo, ND, building churches. For the last two years he worked for Diversified Welding in West Fargo, and he quickly grew to love the job. They quickly became a part of his family.

On June 2, 1978, Royce married his “honey” Rose Jerger in Sisseton, SD. They lived in Fargo for a couple years and then in Kindred for a few years, and then moved to Casselton, ND where they still resided until his death.

Royce loved spending his time fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with his dogs. He was known for his own “special” language, one of his favorite sayings were “I have to work to make minnow money”, “half-pants”, “ring dogs”, and one of his favorite names for all of his nieces and nephews were “hinksterschneider” and “roosters”. He was quite proud of “The 7 Star Guide Status” which he “established”. He definitely had a way to bring a room to its knees with laughter. He was a quiet soul, with a roaring laugh; he will be missed.

He is survived by his wife Rose, Casselton, ND; children, Jason Jerger (Holly Sinkola); Lora Rodacker (fiancé Dave Sanders), all of Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Erika, Bailee, Brooke and Austin Jerger of all of Park Rapids, MN; brothers, Gary (Sandra) Rodacker, Harwood, ND; Lonnie (Shirley) Rodacker, Amenia, ND; Denise (Ted) Pfeifer, Davenport, ND. In-laws, Walt & Mavis Jerger, Rothsay, MN; Ron & Debbie Jerger, Barnesville, MN; Al and Nancy Jerger, Rothsay, MN; Susie & Ron Jordon, Audubon, MN; Annette & Stacy Stringer, Blaine, MN; Sandy & Ron Stetz-Desmarais, Fargo, ND; Jon (Roxanne) Jerger, Fargo, ND; Sharri & Todd Drussell, Hawley, MN; Gene & Vickie Thompson, Kindred, ND; Jay Thompson, Fargo, ND; Jackie & Brian Nelson, Colorado. And many nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Myrtle and Allen Rodacker; grandparents; Adam and Katie Rodacker, and Fred and Hilda Vietz.

Visitation: Monday, August 5, 2013 from 5-7 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at West Funeral Home, West Fargo and also one hour prior to the service.
