FARGO – Starting in November, Allegiant Travel Co. will launch a new, nonstop jet service between Fargo and Tampa Bay, Fla., via St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport in Florida.

Allegiant is celebrating the new service by offering roundtrip fares as low as $99 for a limited time.

Special one-way fares will also be offered for $99 – again, for a limited time.

Andrew Levy, Allegiant’s president, said the company is pleased to add the Tampa Bay area to the company’s list of affordable, convenient destination options for the Fargo market.

“Our vacation packages and nonstop service to Orlando, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Phoenix have all been very popular with residents,” Levy said.

“We are confident the Fargo community will appreciate the convenience of flying nonstop to Tampa Bay and the value of bundling their air, hotel and car rental reservation together,” he said.

The new flights will operate twice a week starting Nov. 23 between Fargo Hector International Airport and St. Petersburg-Clearwater.

Shawn Dobberstein, executive director at Fargo’s Hector International Airport, said Allegiant’s announcement is great news for area air travelers, who, he added, have been growing in number.

“We’ve been setting boarding records since October 2012 and it appears we’re on track to have an all-time record boarding year again in 2013,” Dobberstein said.

“Allegiant’s service is a big reason for that, due to the increased capacity and number of seats they provide in our market,” he said.

Allegiant’s special $99 roundtrip promotional fare will be available for two days only and tickets must be purchased by Thursday for travel by April 29, 2014. Seats are limited.

Subsequent introductory rates will start at $99 one-way and will be available until Aug. 27 for travel by April 29. Again, seats are limited.

Travelers can make reservations on the company’s website at allegiant.com, or by calling (702) 505-8888.

Allegiant is based in Las Vegas and operates a low-cost, high-efficiency airline through its subsidiary, Allegiant Air. It also offers travel-related products such as hotel rooms and rental cars.
