Jay Johnson, age 47, of Fosston, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Monday (October 14th) at Essentia Hospital in Fosston. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday (October 19th) at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. Mark Faugstad officiating. Interment will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Lengby, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Friday (October 18th) and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. All visitation will be held at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.

Jay has two children Royce of Fargo, ND and Darian of Fosston MN. Jay also leaves a wife Donna of Fosston MN and three step children that lovingly called him DAD, Ashlyn (Matt) of Williston ND, Kassiah of Fosston MN and Ru of Fosston MN. Jay leaves the biggest joy of his life a grand daughter that called him Papa, Teagan is Ashlynn's daughter. Jay also leaves a step son Josh Houska (Kayla) and grandson Logan.

Jay is survived by his parents Bruce and Bev Johnson of Harwood, ND, two brothers and five sisters, Jerad (Melinda) of Dilworth MN, Jesse (Diana) of Watford City, ND, Dawn (Tim) of West Fargo, Tasha (Eric) of Harwood ND. Misty and Sammie Jo both of Billings MT, and Laramie of Great Falls MT. Also Kitty and Luverne Lomen of Langby MN.

Jay also has many nieces and nephews that knew when Uncle Jay was around laughs, smiles and plenty of fun was to be had by all.

Anyone who knew Jay knew his greatest joy in life was kids of all ages and it didn't matter who's kid it was he always tried to make them laugh and smile.

Jay loved to play and watch any and all sports, but his greatest love of all was the Minnesota Vikings. He could tell you about the Vikings from back when they were known as the Purple People Eaters right up to today's team. No matter how great or sorry the team was he was a True Fan.

Jay was Graduate of Central Cass High School in 1985, in Casselton ND. He Then moved on to the working force to support and raise his new family in the place he called HOME Fosston MN.
