Michael Jay Flore, 59, of Chandler, AZ, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Banner Desert Medical Center.

He was born to John and Norma Flore on December 16, 1953, in Fargo and graduated from Fargo North High School in 1972. Shortly after high school, Mike began working in the pavement marking industry. Mike became an expert in all areas of pavement marking. He was well respected for his expertise in project management, equipment and all road striping materials. Most recently, Mike was working as an estimator for Phoenix based SunLine Contracting. Throughout his career Mike was known for his knowledge, work ethic and patience. Not only was he a skilled professional, he patiently trained many others.

Mike enjoyed the outdoors. He was a fearless skier and biker. He loved cars and throughout his life he tinkered with and collected many different vehicles.

He is survived by his mother, Norma Flore, Fargo, sisters Linda Lembke (Mark), Fargo, Karen Effertz (Kevin), Velva, Janet Moser, West Fargo, as well as nieces and nephews Rhianna Lembke and Jeremy Lembke (Nicole), Kyle Effertz, Joe Effertz, Jamie Effertz, and Hollie Engle (Cory). Mike was preceded in death by his father, John.

A memorial service will be held Friday, December 20, at 2:00 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2010 Elm St. N., Fargo. Online tributes can be shared at www.hansenmortuary.com.
