Jo Lea Metz, 75, of Spearfish, SD passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2014, in her home.

Jo Lea was born to Duward and Iola (Scott) Evans on November 19, 1938 in Fargo ND, and grew up primarily in Fargo ND.

Jo Lea Metz, 75, of Spearfish, SD passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2014, in her home.

Jo Lea was born to Duward and Iola (Scott) Evans on November 19, 1938 in Fargo ND, and grew up primarily in Fargo ND.

She married Robert Metz on July 15, 1960. They lived in Fargo, ND all of their married life. Together they raised a son and a daughter.

Survivors include her son, David (Renae) Metz of Spearfish, SD, daughter, Allison (Randy) Nowakowski of Fargo, ND, two sisters Doreen Friedman of Wisconsin and Mary Ann (John) Grover, of Iowa; four grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Bryce, Shayna, Dillon and Jade; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Barbara) Metz; 12 nieces and nephews along with many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers, Jerry and Ward Evans.

Jo Lea was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and her memorial service will be Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Fargo, ND. A memorial has been established to the World Wide Work of Jehovah's Witnesses or Hospice of the Northern Hills, Spearfish Regional Hospital. Her wish was to be cremated and buried next to her husband at Riverside Cemetery in Fargo, ND.
