Dorothea Mae Smith Norgaard

Dorothea Mae Smith Norgaard of Good Samaritan Center of Arthur, ND, passed on Tuesday evening, January 22, 2014. Dorothea was born to Clarence Arnold and Roselin Rowland Smith Sr. July 22, 1925, at Howard, South Dakota. She grew up in Council Bluffs, Iowa, graduating from Abraham Lincoln High School, while working at the war plant making radio crystals (batteries). She met and married Roy K. Norgaard and moved to the prairies of North Dakota. They had two daughters, Pamela (Gordon) Sundstrom, Colorado Springs, CO, and Patricia (Richard "Skip) Taylor of Fargo; seven grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Eleanor Damgard of Omaha, NE, brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Dorthy Norgaard of Finley, ND; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins around the US.

Visitation is 2-4 pm Sunday with a prayer service at 4pm at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo. The funeral is 2pm Monday at Hope Lutheran Church, North Campus, Fargo. Burial will be at a later date in Memory Gardens, Valley City, ND.
