ST. PAUL - Minnesotans may receive driver's licenses or identification cards that allow their re-entry into the United States after they visit Canada, Mexico, Bermuda or the Caribbean.

The enhanced cards are among the federally approved border-crossing documents required. For the past few years, Americans needed to carry their passports or passport cards with them when they visited those countries.

Fourteen Minnesota Vehicle Services Department stations may process applications for the enhanced licenses: Anoka, Arden Hills, Austin, Bemidji, Detroit Lakes, Duluth, Eagan, Hastings, Mankato, Plymouth, Rochester, St. Cloud, St. Paul and Virginia.

Cost is $15 more than for a regular driver's license or identity card.
