Joseph Eback, 74, Devils Lake, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, in his home.

Mr. Eback was born May 24, 1927, in Esmond, N.D., where he grew up and attended school. He moved with his family to Knox, N.D., then to the Oberon, N.D., area. In the early 1950s he moved to Devils Lake. He married Katherine Beck Sept. 22, 1952, in Devils Lake. He worked as a cement finisher for contractors in the Devils Lake area.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Joseph Jr. (Nancy), Spokane, Wash., Timothy, Devils Lake; five daughters, Linda Eback, Hankinson, N.D., Sally (Chris) Erickson, Glendive, Mont., Kathy (Butch) Zacher, Patty (Mark) Schwab, both Devils Lake, Pam (Kevin) Swart, Herndon, Kan.; five brothers, John, Leo (Marie), Anton (Phyllis), all Devils Lake, Bernhard (Theresa), Brinsmade, N.D., Arthur (Kathy), Puyallup, Wash.; three sisters, Helen (Ray) Nelson, Tacoma, Wash., Pauline (Ed) Zettler, Nennah, Wis., Lorraine (John) Zettler, Leeds, N.D.; and 15 grandchildren.

Visitation: Today from 9-9, with a rosary and prayer service at 7, and Friday from 9-noon in Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake.

Funeral: Friday at 2 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake.

Burial: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Devils Lake.
