Glyndon, Minn. - The Buffalo River Race Park is 59 years old and still running strong. With West Fargo’s Red River Valley Speedway shut down this summer, and possibly the future, there’s no reason to see the track in Glyndon slowing down any time soon.
West Fargo - A slight fog calmly creeps over the track at the Red River Valley Speedway as it sits quietly in the rain. It was almost as if the exhaust from races past was unable to let go. Lights point toward an empty track, and speakers aim at empty grandstands.
FARGO – The Fargo Force find themselves in unfamiliar territory in the Western Conference finals of the United States Hockey League. Up 2-1 in the best-of-5 series versus Sioux Falls, the Force are in the driver’s seat.
FARGO – The battle between Fargo North and Moorhead on Friday at North High School was everything a baseball game featuring two undefeated teams should be.
Pitching ruled the game. The Spartans, however, took home the 2-1 win and moved to 4-0 on the season.
FARGO – Before leading the Fargo Force junior hockey team into a game, goalie Cam Johnson always puts his head down, stares at the ice and clears his mind.
Fergus Falls, Minn. - Tuesday night at Lakes Area Shooting Center, there were Fergus Falls letterman jackets next to camouflage ones. There were short students next to tall, big students next to small, freshmen next to upperclassmen and every high school stereotype wrapped into one trapshooting team.
FARGO – Life is a circus, and apparently there’s no scheduling around it.
FARGO – There were storybook heroes all over the ice for Fargo in Wednesday’s 4-3 overtime Game 5 victory over Waterloo in front of 2,693 at Scheels Arena.
FARGO – No Fargo team has had a player with more points in the regular season than forwards Dominic Toninato and Brendan Harms, who both finished with 70. No Force team has had a player with more assists in the regular season than Harms’ 45 this season. No Force team has won more games or had more points than this season’s team, which finished with 38 wins and 83 points.
