Nicholas J. - You've summed up how I feel about most comments about politics on the Forum these days. If things don't go the way an individual personally wants them to, then the whole institution of democracy is broken in their eyes. I for one will be voting against Berg and will have no problem finding others to join me. Anyone that has ever had to deal with Berg's company (Goldmark) will likely find the idea of him representing us in Congress reprehensible. Everyone seems to be condemning Pomeroy for his health care vote, claiming he is hurting North Dakotans. How have any of you been affected by that law? I don't mean how does Glen Beck or Bill O'Reilly or Rush Limbaugh tell you that you are affected, but what effect has it really had in your life? Now consider the impact of farm bills that Pomeroy has voted for? How much money had that brought into the North Dakota economy? How many jobs were created? Quit listening to the talking heads out there and actually think about the issues people!

The voters of ND have already made up their minds. When Pomeroy started voting party line and completely forgot what state he represents, he also started writing the final chapter of his career. I'm glad to hear Berg is raising all this money but frankly it is Pomeroy's complete disregard for his constituents that will get Berg elected. Mr Berg, you should send him a thank you card. PS - The Dems think we will forget all of this in 6 months.

you people do realize that it's still a democracy even if your candidates don't win, right? there's nothing malevolent going on when the other side gets more votes. it just means you lost. get over it and constructively prepare for the next race. i'm tired of hearing all this "woe is me" and "democracy is dead" BS. it's not dead, you just lost. bugger off.

Scooter S.: the national GOP will only look at giving contributions to those who are successful raising $ in their own district. By giving to Berg, this will help him get national attention also. JoJoB.: I believe that federal election law requires that this be listed as a "loan" - there is no guarantee that he will be repaid for the money he puts into his campaign. Bottom line: Berg is gonna fight toe-to-toe with Pomeroy for this seat. That's something which hasn't happened in a long time here, and hopefully it'll lead to success for him in November (although I too wish it could be sooner).

He borrows his campaign money and then will pay himself back when he gets enough donations, why not give the campaign your own money. If I choose to give a politician money I don't want them to pay themselves back, why do they always want other peoples money to enrich themselves. Pay for your own future

Can we vote now? November will mark the beginning of the return of the Constitution to the people! A most joyous time will be upon us, a time when we are free to make our own decisions. Our country will be of the people, by the people, and for the people! I will gladly contribute all I am able to in order to unseat the current "representative". Pomeroy is such a joke, and it is only fitting that we get the last laugh!

Berg will have no trouble defeating pomeroy in November. People will never forget the health care disaster and we still have the obama depression to deal with

Why send him a penny when the big national Republican machine is going to unload a dump truck of money into this campaign?

As a former resident of Fargo I maintain an interest in the well being not only of North Dakota and believe Pomeroy is no longer serving the population. He, as with his fellow colleagues Dorgan and Konrad, has been urbanized into the beltway culture and find their votes with big city Democrats supporting large unions, freeloaders, and left wing zealots., Time to clean house and I sent a check and I hope thousands of former North Dakotans do the same.
