Sturdy steel ‘motel chairs’ make backyard comeback
FARGO – Lawn chairs weren’t always the flimsy, stackable, disposable items we use today. In the ’40s and ’50s, the top-selling lawn chair was built like a Sherman tank – maybe because it was produced by the same manufacturers who pumped out artillery and materials for the war.
