Jack was born October 1, 1932 in Clement Township, Dickey County, North Dakota, the son of Emory and Selma (Uhlhorn) Johnson. He grew up on the farm, attended a one room rural school for his first eight years of education and graduated from Oakes, North Dakota High School in 1950.

The memorial service for Jackie (Jack) E. Johnson will be Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the First Lutheran Church, Fargo, North Dakota. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the First Lutheran Church Chapel.
