Sylvia T. Osmundson was born November 7, 1920, on the family farm near Averill, MN, the daughter of Halvor and Anolda (Amundson) Osmundson. She was raised and attended school in Averill. Upon graduating from high school she attended Concordia College in Moorhead where she received her teaching degree. She then taught in a one room school house.
