Richard was born to Francis and Thelma (Holm) Schultz in St. Paul, MN, September 9, 1936. Dick grew up in St. Paul and graduated from White Bear Lake (MN) High School in 1954. He attended Moorhead State Teachers College, where he met his future wife Sharlene Sobolik. They were united in marriage August 13, 1955, at Fordville Lutheran Church, Fordville, ND; after which they made their home in Moorhead.

Richard Francis Schultz, 76, passed peacefully in his sleep Thursday, February 7, 2013, at his Fargo, ND, home surrounded by family, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.Richard was born to Francis and Thelma (Holm) Schultz in St. Paul, MN, September 9, 1936.
