Jay was born June 20, 1923, in New England, ND, to Frank and Mary (Sackmaster) Sams. His family moved to Minnesota in 1932. He enlisted in the Army in 1944. He took his basic training in Mineral Wells, TX and from there went to Germany to serve in World War II.

Jeffridge Jay Sams, 89, of Glyndon, MN, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013, in Villa Maria Nursing Home, Fargo, ND, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.Jay was born June 20, 1923, in New England, ND, to Frank and Mary (Sackmaster) Sams.
