She was born May 14, 1939 at home in Dalton, Minnesota, the daughter of Webster and Alice (Dahlager) Torgerson. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Dalton. She attended school at District 9, rural Dalton, and Fergus Falls High School, graduating in 1957.

Janet Alice Petterson, 73, a resident of Fergus Falls, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls surrounded by her family after a brief illness.She was born May 14, 1939 at home in Dalton, Minnesota, the daughter of Webster and Alice (Dahlager) Torgerson.
