Dean W. HallDean W. Hall was born Feb 9, 1931 in Rawson, ND the son of Waldo and Bessie Hall. He graduated from Alexander HS in 1949. He received a BS from Valley City State, followed by a master’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley. He worked as a teacher in Finley, Alexander and Rolla, ND before becoming a middle school principal in Stanley, ND, in 1958.
While in Stanley, Dean met his wife Joan Lindbo when she was employed as a teacher. They were married on Aug. 9, 1959, in Rolla. In 1967, they moved to West Fargo where he was the principal of South Elementary for the next 25 years. Dean’s passion was education. He was active in the Elementary Principals Association and received numerous awards during his career. He felt that happy children and adults provided an environment that optimized learning, thus creating the South school family.
