Elsie Heinze KunzeElsie Heinze Kunze died May 22nd at the Cooperstown Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM on Tuesday May 28th at the Assembly of God Church in Dazey, ND with Rev. Brian Skaar officiating. Visitation will be from 5 PM until 7 PM Monday at the Lerud-Schuldt funeral Home with a Prayer Service beginning at 7 PM. Interment will be in the Hannaford Cemetery.
Elsie Marie Jensen was born Feb. 23, 1929 at Cooperstown, ND the daughter of Einar and Jensina Jensen. She attended country schools in the Hannaford and Walum areas before moving with her family to Sibley, ND where she completed school. While growing up there Elsie had a white horse named Silver that was her pride and joy. In April of 1945 she was married to Edward Heinze. A devoted farm wife she milked cows, cleaned, and cooked while raising her family. In 1974 Elsie began her own housekeeping business, Chore Girls. She worked hard and saved her money and took her first trip to Denmark. Her oldest brother Einar was raised in Denmark. He did not come to the United States with the family. This was the first time they had met. Elsie ran her business for over 25 years and at the same time drove school bus for the Luverne School. She moved to Jamestown, ND and married Sylvester Kunze. They moved to Clarkston, WA but Elsie later returned to make her home at Sibley, ND. This past year she had been a resident of the Cooperstown Medical Center.
