Carl G. AndersonCarl Gustave Anderson was born December 28, 1932, to Edwin S. and Laura (Stokes) Anderson in Dilworth, MN. He was one of twelve children. He loved his country very much and, following in the shoes of his older brothers, enlisted in the Army on October 29, 1952. He proudly served as Private 1st Class in the 529th Field Artillery BN, in Germany and also in Korea during the Korean War. He was discharged on September 30, 1960, and re-enlisted into the Air Force Reserves for a short time in 1963.
After discharge, Carl went on to serve his community as Chief of Police in Dilworth, and with the Water Department for the City of Fargo, ND, for thirty-four years until retirement. He continued his service with his many, many volunteer activities with the American Legion Post 2 in Fargo; including being elected and serving as Post Commander from 1989-90, being elected Chef de Gare of the 40 & 8, and being honored as a 50 year member of the American Legion. Carl was also a Life Member of VFW and a member of the AmVets.
