Dale Ardell Sorlie

Dale Ardell Sorlie, West Fargo, went to be with the Lord on September 19, 2013, after a courageous four year battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS). He was born March 22, 1954 in Moorhead, MN to Donald and Lorene (Helling) Sorlie. He lived his entire life in the Harwood and West Fargo area, graduating from West Fargo High School in 1972. He married the love of his life, Debra Mathews at Osterdalen Lutheran Church in Argusville, ND on May 25, 1973. Dale was an avid outdoorsman; loved to hunt, fish, camp and ride motorcycle. He loved the summers we spent at the lake with our daughters, and winter vacations to get away from the cold. He especially loved the trips to Mexico, the Caribbean and Las Vegas, fishing in Canada, and the Air National Guard deployments to Alaska and Curacao. He also loved spending time with and watching his grandchildren grow.

He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandpa, and friend. Dale was kind to everyone he met and could instantly light up any room he entered with his fun-loving and personable nature. He was an inspiration to everyone around him, and led a valiant fight day in and day out, always staying positive with a kind smile for everyone. Dale was the epitome of what a husband, father, and grandfather should be. He showed his family what it truly means to be a good person, and taught us that we are stronger than we think we are.
