Ferdinand RudolfThe funeral for Ferdinand Rudolf, Wishek, ND will be Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 2:00 PM at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek, ND. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND. Burial will be at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek, ND.
Ferdinand Rudolf, son of John and Caroline (Sprenger) Rudolf was born September 27, 1915 on the family farm southwest of Wishek, ND the youngest of 12 children. Ferdinand went to school thru the eighth grade and a short business course. Ferdie worked for Peterson Biddick, Jamestown, ND where he met Lenora Weisz. Ferdie was united in marriage to Lenora Weisz on April 20, 1941 at Lehr, ND. They moved to the Rudolf family farm, farming with his brother, Christ. Ferdie was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church. He served as a Deacon and Treasurer at St. Andrews Lutheran Church and also a Deacon at St. Luke Lutheran Church at Wishek. He was a School Board Director of Rosenfield Township. Ferdie was a big promoter of rural telephone. He was also very active in promoting the new Fire Hall, making many calls to Congressmen to get a new Fire Fall for Wishek. For 40 years, Ferdie was a member of the Rural and Wishek Fire Department and was the longest living member of the volunteer Wishek Fire Department. He was a Director of the Wishek Community Hospital for 12 years. Ferdie and Lenora retired in 1975 and moved into Wishek where they built a new home. Ferdie loved to go out to help Gene when combining, to help move farm vehicles. He loved to play cards, preferable Pinochle. Ferdinand loved his family dearly, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and would do anything in his ability to help.
