Nov. 17, 1938 - Nov. 15, 2013 Preceded in death by parents, Marcus and Margaret. Survived by wife of 46 years, Karen (Edenstrom); daughters, Kara (John) Conry, Anne (Chad) Miklya, and Kathleen (Brian) McMahon; grandchildren, Marcus and Ruth Conry, Aidan, Grady, and Owen Miklya, and Margaret McMahon. Robert spent his retirement studying Greek and Latin at the University of St. Thomas, playing golf, and traveling. Proud of his Irish ancestry, he introduced his daughters to Ireland when they were young and traveled to Ireland as much as he could. A lover of learning, he was fascinated by, and respected, all cultures and religions. He lived his life with no regrets or worries. An eternal optimist, he awoke each morning excited for what the day would hold. Compassionate and non-judgmental, everyone who knew him loved him. It was a honor to call him your friend. He loved his wife unconditionally, and was the best father and papa one could ask for. Private family memorial service. Interment at Lakewood Cemetery, MPLS.
