Paul Richard Sande was born October 25, 1945 in Fargo, where he was raised and attended Hawthorne and Agassiz Schools. As a teenager, he worked for Don's Car Wash and also for several other area businesses, including Flowers by Marty and Mandell's Furs. In 1962, Paul began working at Gunderson Trucking, which became Bob's Transfer in 1965. He remained with the company until the present. During that time, he was an owner-operator for Atlas Van Lines and received many driving awards, including recognition as a Million Mile Driver. In 1977, Paul met and married his soul mate, Linda Lovaas.
Paul's hobby was detailing autos for resale, but he especially loved the time he spent with his grandchildren and his Saturdays at Petro having coffee with his brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; two children, Tamera Seek, CA, Todd Sande, OR, four grandchildren; four brothers, William (Angie) Buchanan, Cottonwood, AZ, Tillman (Kathy) Sande, West Fargo, John (Ardell) Sande, Rimrock, CA, Louie Sande, Fargo and two sisters, Ruth Tubbs and Julie Olson, both of Fargo. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Visitation: Thursday, January 8, 2009 from 6 to 7 in West Funeral Chapel, West Fargo, with a prayer service at 7.
Memorial Service: Friday, January 9, at 10:30 in West Funeral Chapel, West Fargo.
Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo.
