Robert Thomas Finney

Robert Thomas Finney, 65, of Ada, MN, died of a heart attack on Monday, January 5, 2009. He grew up in the Minneapolis area and spent many summers at the Finney farm in Georgetown, MN. He enlisted in the United States Army serving years 1961 to 1964 and in the Vietnam War from 1963-1964. He graduated from Michigan State University with a BS in Construction Management and afterwards moved back to the Fargo area where he owned Finney Construction for much of the 1970s & 1980s. He then headed south to Phoenix, then onto Las Vegas, Sacramento, Sioux Falls and finally returning to the area he loved so much, and settled in Ada in 2003.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Andrea Fuqua, Scottsdale, AZ, his brother Paul Finney, Scottsdale, AZ, his sister Jane Carson, Las Vegas, NV, his grandchildren Allyson, Benjamin, and Cole Fuqua, and his aunts, Darlene Askegaard and Nyla Carson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leyden and Virginia Finney, and his son, Sean Thomas Finney.

Robert will be greatly missed by all of his family and many friends.

Memorial Service: 1:00 pm on Saturday January 10, 2009 at Kirkebo Lutheran Church in Perley, MN. Reception at church following the service. The family requests that any memorial donations go to the Kirkebo Cemetery Fund.
