Charles A. Heyerdahl, 83, Hannaford, ND, died Thursday, January 8, 2009 in MeritCare Palliative Care South University Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Charles was born February 22, 1925 in Walum, ND, the son of Carl and Anna (Sad) Heyerdahl. He grew up and attended school in Walum and graduated from Hannaford High School.
He married Martha Lunde on December 31, 1948 in Williston, ND. They farmed and raised their children in the Hannaford area. In 1997 after Martha's passing, Charles spent his time between Fargo and his home in Hannaford.
Charles is survived by two sons, Eric (Donelda) Heyerdahl, Hannaford, ND and Gary (Annette) Heyerdahl, Cooperstown, ND; two daughters, Linda (Douglas) Dahl, Horace, ND and Pamela (Richard) Hanson, Fargo, ND; one sister, Dorothy (Alan) Lommen; four grandchildren, Douglas Charles Dahl, Garrett Heyerdahl, Kari Sedler, and Jeffrey Sedler; one great-grandchild, Jenner Runsvold; and extended family, Nancy Decker, Sara (Will) Larsen, and Ellie and Amy Ramlo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha; his parents, Carl and Anna; two brothers, Earl and Erik; and three sisters, Eleanor Jordan, Margaret Agnew, and Barbara Mahlke.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 Tuesday, January 13, 2009 in Eidfjord Lutheran Church, rural Walum, ND. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 Monday, January 12, 2009 in Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home, Cooperstown, ND and will continue one hour prior to services in the Church. Prayer Service will be held 7:00 Monday, January 12, 2009 in Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home, Cooperstown, ND. Spring Interment will be in Eidfjord Cemetery, rural Walum, ND.
