Margaret Haugrud, 101, of Fargo, ND, died Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Bethany Homes, Fargo.

Margaret Elsie Graeber was born December 22, 1907, in Tripoli, Wisconsin, daughter of Henry and Elsie (Kring) Graeber. She graduated from Tri-county High School in Tripoli, while living in Ladysmith, Wisconsin. She graduated from Anchor Hospital Nursing School in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Margaret married Dr. Earl Haugrud on June 10, 1932, in St. Paul, MN. They moved to Fargo, North Dakota in 1932. They raised three children in Fargo.

She liked gardening, reading, knitting, and especially enjoying time at her lake home near Nevis, Minnesota.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Robert) McCurdy, Ft. Worth, TX; her son, Michael (Delpha) Haugrud, Fargo, ND; nine grandchildren, Rebecca, Deborah, John, Peter, David, Kevin, Sarah, Timothy, and Philip, five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Heather, Joshua, Stephen, and Erin; and two great-great grandchildren, Taylor and Aidan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Earl, who died September 9, 1976; her daughter, Helen Thompson, three brothers, and five sisters.

Memorial Service: Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at 2:00pm at Bethany Homes Chapel, Fargo, ND.

Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
