Margaret Esther (Martin) Johnson, 84, passed away on June 24th, 2009 in Peoria, Arizona after a short illness.

Margaret was born on November 6, 1924 in Erie Township - Cass County North Dakota to William L and Annie E. (Hills) Martin. Margaret attended grade school and graduated from Amenia High School in Amenia, North Dakota. Margaret married Oscar K. Johnson Jr. on June 20, 1945. They farmed in Amenia until moving to Phoenix, Arizona in 1959. She attended nursing school at Phoenix Union High School and earned her license as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Margaret worked as an LPN for 26 years at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix in the newborn nursery until she retired in 1988.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Elizabeth Timmerman, son Kenneth Johnson, and grandson Jerry Carney.

She is survived by her son Eugene (Deborah) Johnson of Prescott Valley, Az., Daughters Patricia Carney, Peoria Az., and Margaret "Peggy" Johnson of Missoula Mont., 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grand children.

Viewing Services will be held Friday June 26, 2009 at Best Mortuary, Peoria Arizona from 5 - 8 p.m. with graveside services on Saturday June 27th at 10 am. at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale, Az. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Make a Wish Foundation or Hospice of Arizona. Condolences may be sent to the family in care of Julie Foote P.O. Box 6012 Glendale, Ariz. 85312-6012.

Margaret was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
