Dorothy Irene Arndt, 93, Fargo, ND, formerly of Moorhead, MN, died Saturday, August 15, 2009, in Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo, where she had been a resident since 2004.

Dorothy Irene Arndt, 93, Fargo, ND, formerly of Moorhead, MN, died Saturday, August 15, 2009, in Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo, where she had been a resident since 2004.

Dorothy Sweno, daughter of Albert and Dorothea Sweno, was born March 16, 1916, in Milan, MN. She grew up, received her education, and was married to Melvin Arndt on May 28, 1937, in Milan. They farmed near Appleton, MN, until 1959, when they moved to Moorhead. Dorothy worked at St. Ansgar Hospital and Farmer’s Home Market, both in Moorhead. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin, who died in 1995; her parents; a daughter, Dorothy Mae Arndt; grandson, Bryan Opskar; brother, Raymond Sweno; and sisters, Bernice Wagner and Doris Struxness.

Dorothy is survived by daughters, Mary (Stan) Krogh, Fargo, and Betty (Erling) Opskar, Pelican Rapids, MN; grandchildren, Heather (Eric) Swenson, Hollie (Alec) Grande, and Christopher (Rebecca) Opskar; and great-grandchildren, Ryder and Sadie Opskar.

Visitation: one hour prior to the funeral, at church.

Funeral: Tuesday, August 18, 2009, 10:30 AM, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
