Doris H. JohnsonA Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 30th at the Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church at 2:00 pm.
The family moved to Grand Forks in 1923 where she attended school and graduated from Central High School. She went to business school in Minot where she stayed with her aunt and uncle, Ernest and Ina Welton and cousin Jeanne who was like a sister to her through all the years. She married Michael Feist and they made their home in Grand Forks and had two daughters. Michael passed away in 1941. She worked at the AAA agricultural office where she worked her way from part time to administrative assistant to the County Committee. She held that office until 1945 when she married Paul O. Johnson and moved to a farm near Northwood,ND where they farmed until he retired in 1967. They had one daughter. After they moved to town in 1967, she worked as city clerk and then deputy city auditor until retiring in 1976. She also was a Nodak Insurance Agent and was a Tupperware demonstrator.
She had belonged to Eastern Star and was a member of the Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She is survived by daughters Marilyn (Feist) Fuchs, Glyndon, MN; Cheryl (Feist) Ellingson, Northwood; Arla (Johnson) (Dennis) Frigstad, Cottage Grove, MN; Grandchildren Tammy (Dan) DesMarais, Foley, MN; Laurel Brooks, Vadnais Heights, MN; Ken Fuchs, Glyndon; Mitchel (Heather) Fuchs, Moorhead; Jeff (Suzanne) Ellingson, Northwood; Cheri (Rob) Mynheir,Fargo; LeNae Williamson, Cottage Grove, MN; Todd (Karen) Frigstad, Rosemount, MN; Sonja (Ross) Olson, Anoka, MN; Great grand children Shannon, Meghan, Jason, Kelly, Chris, Kerrie, Bobby, Jenny, Brooklyn, Josh, Rachel, Anna, Julia, Jack, Annika and Andy. Great great grand Children, Michaela, Paige, Daisy, Chloe, Sofie, Kamrin, Piper Rose. Sisters, Zelda Plew, Florence, AZ; Ila Aiken, Post Falls, ID and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Michael Feist and Paul O. Johnson; brothers Myron, Walter, Leslie Cowell, Jim Snible; sisters, Nettie Storhaug, Pearl Tompkins, Marian Keiser; great grandchildren, Jesse Ellingson, Hannah Williamson; sons-in-laws Elmer Fuchs and Benny Ellingson.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 30th at the Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given in Doris’ name to your favorite charity or Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church.
