Harriet M. Lowry, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota.
Harriet was born on November 1, 1923 in Sanborn, North Dakota to Elizabeth and Herbert Lettenmaier. She grew up in Valley City and began her career in banking shortly after her education. She met and married Orville Lowry in Valley City on June 3, 1950.
During the first years of their marriage, Harriet devoted her time to raising her two children Mark and Susan.
The family moved throughout the upper Midwest during their first fifteen years together, settling in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1965. Shortly after their arrival, Harriet rejoined the work force as an accounting associate for Montgomery Ward. She remained in this position for the next 20 years as Orville joined the upper ranks of Archer Daniels Midlands. They retired in September 1990 and moved to Fargo.
Harriet & Orville lived for several years at Waterford at Harwood Groves, where they spent much of their time with new friends, enjoying the many activities which the retirement community offered.
On June 26, 2009, Orville passed away in Fargo after battling emphysema for more than a decade.
Harriet is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by her son, Mark Lowry of Denver, Colorado and her daughter Susan Lowry and her husband Randall Bush of Castle Rock, Colorado. Her sister Jean Fletcher of West Fargo survives.

The funeral will be held today at 11:00 A.M. at First Lutheran Church, Fargo with visitation starting at 10:00 A.M.
Interment will be at Woodbine Cemetery in Valley City at a later date in the Spring.
