Lucille Bachman, 94, of Fargo, ND, died Friday, March 2, 2012, at Elim Care Center, Fargo. Lucille Frieda Tetzloff was born August 4, 1917, in Berlin, North Dakota, daughter of Edward Wm and Louise Tetzloff. Lucille's earliest years were in Grand Rapids, North Dakota.

Lucille Bachman, 94, of Fargo, ND, died Friday, March 2, 2012, at Elim Care Center, Fargo.
Lucille Frieda Tetzloff was born August 4, 1917, in Berlin, North Dakota, daughter of Edward Wm and Louise Tetzloff. Lucille's earliest years were in Grand Rapids, North Dakota. She moved with her family from LaMoure County to a farm outside of Hunter, Cass County, North Dakota in 1924.
Lucille attended Arthur High School and North Dakota State College of Science. She studied business and a professional secretarial program. In 1940, she moved east and took a position in the Treaties Department of the State Department, Washington, D.C.
Lucille married William L. Bachman on February 14, 1942 in Washington, D.C. While her husband was serving in North Africa and Europe, she worked in San Francisco as a secretary during the chartering of the United Nations. After World War II ended, she returned to join her husband and settle in Springfield, Virginia. It was there they would raise their two children, Jon and JoAnne.
After William died in 1990, Lucille returned to Fargo to live near two of her sisters. She moved to Waterford in 2004 and in 2009 to Elim Care Center. She was a faithful member of Pontoppidan Lutheran Church.
Lucille is survived by her children, Jon Michael (Dianne) Bachman, Fredericksburg, VA; JoAnne Lucille (Steve) Alcorn, Winter Haven, FL; grandchildren, Sarah and Daniel Bachman, Fredericksburg, VA; niece, Nancy Ott (Jim) Pinckaers, Edina, MN; and cousin, Dolores Porter, Grandin, ND.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; brother, Lionel Tetzloff; sisters, Lorene Ott, Ardes Halverson and Ardeth Jenson.
Graveside Service: Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
