James Ray Pearcy Sr., 78 of Moorhead, Minnesota passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota after a courageous battle with cancer. James was born October 18, 1934 in Lynd, Minnesota, the son of Ray L. and Rosella Pearcy. He joined the Navy in January of 1952. He married Gloria Skogan on December 31, 1956. They started their family in the Marshall, Minnesota area and moved to Moorhead a few years later. James was an Iron Worker and was a member of the Iron and Steel Workers Union, participating in building projects throughout the United States. He retired in the Moorhead and Colorado areas. He spent the last few years in Tyler, Minnesota and moved back to Moorhead in 2010. James enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Rosella Pearcy, brother, Loren Pearcy, and sister, Sharon Buchholtz. Surviving family members include: brothers, Clayton (Carol) Pearcy, Marshall, Minnesota; David (Carrie) Pearcy, Tyler, Minnesota; sister, Janice (John) Steinle, Balaton, Minnesota; sons, James (Mia) Pearcy Jr., Moorhead, Minnesota; Darin (Kristin) Pearcy, Thief River Falls, Minnesota; daughter, Brenda (Bear) Fuller, Shoshone, Wyoming; grandchildren, April Martinez, Pueblo, Colorado; Brock and Sara Pearcy, Moorhead, Minnesota; Raquel Pearcy, Ethan Johnson and Kate Johnson, Thief River Falls, Minnesota; great-grandchildren, Owen Pearcy , Moorhead, Minnesota; Elijah and Gabriella Martinez, Colorado.
