Lynn C. Lokken

Lynn C. Lokken, 94, of Sabin passed away on December 4th at Waverly Gardens in North Oaks, MN.

Lynn was born November 1, 1918 in Warren, Minnesota. He was the son of Iver Lokken and Verna (Isaacson) Lokken Baker. Lynn grew up in Norman and Clay Counties. He graduated from Glyndon High School and the University of Minnesota-Crookston.

Lynn C. Lokken, 94, of Sabin passed away on December 4th at Waverly Gardens in North Oaks, MN.

Lynn was born November 1, 1918 in Warren, Minnesota. He was the son of Iver Lokken and Verna (Isaacson) Lokken Baker. Lynn grew up in Norman and Clay Counties. He graduated from Glyndon High School and the University of Minnesota-Crookston.

During World War II he spent four years in military service. He was a 1st Lieutenant in the 15th Air Force, stationed in Italy. He was a decorated B-24 pilot. Enemy aircraft damaged his plane over the Ploesti oil fields in Romania on his 30th mission. The crew parachuted from the plane over Bulgaria. They were captured by the enemy and held as prisoners for four months.

Lynn married Lois Rosenfeldt on November 25, 1944 in Moorhead. They farmed near Sabin until retiring in 1984.

He was a member of Sabin Trinity Lutheran Church, the American Legion, American Ex-Prisoners of War and the 455th Bomb Group of the 15th Air Force Association.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Ila Reierson of Moorhead.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lois; sons David (Susan) of Palm Desert, CA, Gregory (Lynne) of Minneapolis, MN; daughter Georgia (Steve) of North Oaks, MN; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; half-brother, Duane Baker.

There will be a memorial service for Lynn in the chapel of Waverly Gardens at 5919 Centerville Road, North Oaks, Minnesota at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 15.

The funeral will be held on Monday, December 10th at 11:00am at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sabin.
