Susan Stromstad
Susan Stromstad, age 61, of Brooklyn Park, MN went to be with the Lord on December 6th at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital, Minneapolis, after a courageous fight with cancer. Susan ReNaye Stromstad was born August 20, 1951 at Crookston, MN to parents, Raymond & Marvie Stromstad. She attended school in Beltrami and later in Fertile. She graduated in 1969 from the Fertile-Beltrami High School. She attended the Anne Carlsen School in Jamestown and then worked for 3 years at the Crookston Library in the ’70’s. She spent time at Camp Courage in the summers of her youth and later stayed at Courage Center in Minneapolis where she received computer training. She lived at a Mary T Home for handicapped and was employed at Rise Inc. where she used her computer skills. Just this past October she was awarded the “Rising Star” Award for her dedicated work at Rise Inc. She so enjoyed her work that she hoped she wouldn’t have to retire at 65.

She attended church services at The Turning Point Christian Center in Brooklyn Park, MN. Her co-workers and caregiver were impressed with her work ethic and her determination to do well. She was a collector of dolls, stuffed animals, Christmas tree ornaments, decorative plates and Hummel figurines. She was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. A co-worker said she had learned contentment by watching Sue.
Susan is survived by her parents and siblings, Cindy (Mark) Johnson of Minneapolis; Ron (Tina) Stromstad of Corona CA; Todd (Darlene) Stromstad of Kennewick, WA.; Tim (Dena) Stromstad of Atenas, Costa Rica and Lisa (TJ) Shockley of Lemmon, SD. She is survived also by many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins who will all miss her.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at 11 AM in the Resurrection Free Lutheran Church, Beltrami, MN.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 14, 2012, from 5-7 PM with a prayer services at 7 PM in the Resurrection Free Lutheran Church, Beltrami, MN.
Burial will be in the Scandia Lutheran Cemetery, rural Beltrami, MN.
