Leonard "Pinky" Lenzen

Leonard "Pinky" Lenzen, age 84 of Bismarck, formerly of Underwood, ND, died December 11th, 2012 at a Bismarck hospital.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, Dec. 14th at the St. Bonaventure’s Catholic Church in Underwood. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Leonard "Pinky" Lenzen, age 84 of Bismarck, formerly of Underwood, ND, died December 11th, 2012 at a Bismarck hospital.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, Dec. 14th at the St. Bonaventure’s Catholic Church in Underwood. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday at St. Bonaventure’s Catholic Church followed by a 7:00 PM Prayer Service.

Leonard "Pinky" was born June 25, 1928 in Wayne, Nebraska to Leonard Sr. & Mabel (Larson) Lenzen. He attended school for 12 years in Omaha, NE. He moved to Portland, Oregon as a young adult and worked for Ellwood Motors for five years. Pinky married Geraldine Gustafson on May 17, 1954 in Portland, OR. They moved to Underwood, ND in 1956. He opened Pinky’s Conoco in 1958 which he owned and operated until 1971. He then went to work for Pulver’s Sanitation for 25 years. Pinky finished his career working for the City of Underwood for 6 years, retiring in 2003. He enjoyed traveling and fishing. Pinky moved to Bismarck in 2007. He was a member of St. Bonaventure’s Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Parish in Bismarck.

He is survived by his two daughters, Debra Lenzen (Mike Shaw) of Bismarck, & Kathy (John) Kwapinski of Fort Ransom, ND; two grandsons, Dan (Abbey) Kwapinski of Fergus Falls, MN, & Dave (Ashley) Kwapinski of Burnesville, MN; & two great-grandchildren, Jaden & Ella.

He was preceded in death by his wife (Geraldine) in 2005.
