Eunice I. Riegel, 90, of Fargo, died Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.

Eunice Ilean was born February 8, 1922 to Olaf and Mabel (Groseth) Smaaladen in Aneta, ND. Eunice attended schools in rural Aneta, ND.

Eunice I. Riegel, 90, of Fargo, died Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.

Eunice Ilean was born February 8, 1922 to Olaf and Mabel (Groseth) Smaaladen in Aneta, ND. Eunice attended schools in rural Aneta, ND.

Eunice married William Riegel on May 9, 1942 at Aneta, ND.

She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the VFW Auxiliary.

Eunice worked in the Fargo Public School system for more than 34 years, retiring in 2001.

Eunice enjoyed playing Bingo and going to the Casino with her sisters. She also loved spending time with her two grandsons and four great-grandchildren.

Eunice is survived by two sons, Darryl (Karen) Riegel, Fargo, ND; and Dennis Riegel, Fargo, ND; two grandsons, Matthew (Megan), Fargo, ND; Joshua (Mandy), Beulah, ND; four great-grandchildren, Mason, Greyson, Emma and Averie Riegel; three sisters, Mildred Krueger, West Fargo, ND; Mavis Durensky, Barnesville, MN; and Delores King, St Paul, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, infant son David, and four brothers, Orphey, Idean, Luverne, and Earl.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Wednesday, December 19, with a prayer service at 7 pm at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo. The Funeral is Thursday at 2:00 pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fargo. Burial is at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
