George Edward Heinrich

April 28, 1920 – December 13, 2012

George was born April 28, 1920 to Herbert and Anna (Zigenhagen) Heinrich in Adrian, ND. He grew up on a farm outside of Adrian. He graduated from Adrian High School and attended the North Dakota Agricultural College (NDSU). On February 10, 1945 he married Elaine (Rode) and together they raised five children. In addition to Georges farming business, he was active in many civic organizations. Some of the many offices he held include; District chairman for the Democratic NPL, Director on LaMoure Farmers Union Oil Company Board, ND State Soil Conservation Service Board, Board member and chairman of Adrian Equity Elevator, Chairman of School Boards in Dickey and Montpelier, Councilman at Trinity Lutheran Church in Adrian. George dedicated his life to his family and the community that they lived in. George passed away peacefully on December 13, 2012 in Mesa, AZ, the place he called his winter home for the past 32 years.

George is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Gertrude (Duletsky). His survivors include his wife of 67 years, Elaine, his five children; Harlan, Owen (Susan), David (Mardee), Amy, Georgia (Jack Gannon), 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Services will include a memorial service at Epiphany Lutheran Church, Apache Junction, AZ on December 30 at 2:00 PM. A Prayer service will be at 7:00 PM January 4, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Adrian, ND. The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM January 5, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Adrian. Interment will be at Adrian Cemetery following the funeral service.
