Luella Thomas, 95, Fargo, ND died on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at ManorCare Health Services, Fargo.Luella was born on June 30, 1917 at Pelican Rapids, MN to Ulrich and Evabelle (Ballard) Senn. She was the youngest of six children. She grew up and attended school there. Luella married Ellis James Thomas in November of 1934. They farmed at Vergas, MN and then Frazee, MN before moving to Arthur, ND. In 1983, they retired and moved to Fargo.

Luella was born on June 30, 1917 at Pelican Rapids, MN to Ulrich and Evabelle (Ballard) Senn. She was the youngest of six children. She grew up and attended school there. Luella’s family was always a priority as she took on the role of the matriarch. She was a member of Edgewood United Methodist Church in Fargo and the Red Hats.
She is survived by a son, Harvey Thomas, Fargo; daughter, Debra Thomas, Moorhead, MN; grandson, Jeffrey Speer and granddaughter, Margaret Speer, both Moorhead; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Luella was preceded in death by her husband; and five siblings, Isabelle Zerface, Clarence Senn, Lawrence Senn, William Senn, and Clifford Senn.
Visitation: Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 from 5 to 7 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.
Funeral: Thursday at 11 AM at First United Methodist Church, Fargo with visitation one hour prior.
Burial: Scambler Cemetery, rural Pelican Rapids.
